Our 2023 projects are underway. Sadly, Malawi has had a rough start to 2023. They recently experienced the worst outbreak of Cholera in the history of the country, followed by Cyclone Freddy, the largest cyclone to ever hit the region. We are working with local partners to assist with both of these disasters. Please check back soon and often as we update this section with our new projects - from educating people on the risks of cholera and supplying preventative treatment like soap and chlorine to providing access to clean water to those affected by the storm. As always, none of the impact is possible without YOU!

MDALA CHIKOWA VILLAGE

A new borehole was also drilled for the community near the mobile health clinic. This is a very large community with a population of 1500+ people. It is the very first (and second) borehole the community has ever had!

MKAIKA SECONDARY SCHOOL

The borehole has been drilled, tank-stand fabricated, showers built, and soon a brand new solar water system will be installed for 350 students allowing for running water for this very deserving school and surrounding community.

A pump that was broken for more than 1 year, and needed all new everything (from pump to cement to new training sessions) - was brought back to life for this school of 1621 students

1761 students were served when we repaired this broken system that had been malfunctioning for more than 6 months. For 1/3 of the cost of drilling a new borehole, we can repair and revive old pumps.

MATCHUANA ECD SCHOOL

Meet the beneficiaries of this sweet preschool. Now imagine stealing their pumps and parts and taking away the only nearby water source. That's exactly what happened - forcing the school and community to collect water from the local stream. Repaired and renewed thanks to our impressive team!

This community was also hit by Cyclone Ana and the school was repurposed as a shelter - housing 62 families who lost everything.
2825 students served...as well as the village pump that was also fully repaired.

This borehole was on the brink of disaster. While water would still come out, it was only a matter of time that it would stop altogether. Once again, this project needed new everything - from pump to civil works and a refresher training course for all!

CHOLERA CAMPAIGN
NORTHERN REGION

For over a year, Malawi experienced the worst cholera outbreak in the history of the country. A generous donor came forward to support cholera campaigns designed to educate communities on the outbreak and supply them preventative measures.
